Removing Amtico Flooring
It helps remove all the tough dirt and marks from the flooring.
Removing amtico flooring. To a bucket of water add around 100ml of white vinegar so as to neutralize any of the cleaning product. Hi katie you wont be able to tile over the amtico as the tile adhesive wont take to it so you will need to lift them you can scrape them up and if there are a struggle to get up heat them up with a hot air gun that will make it easier but when there up you will need to put selflevelling compound down if its a concrete floor to kill the old adhesive or if its wooden floor boards you will have to over ply it. I have amtico tiles at the kitchen end of my large kitchen diner laminate floor at the dining room end i want to take the tiles up and the laminate to put some of the laminate look cushion floor down instead how on earth do you remove the amtico tiles.
Hope this helps alan. You can use a mop and a bucket of water to rinse the floor. Start to lift tile still using heat from heat gun or preferably a hair drier as heat gun can cause damage its preferably better to lift amtico from edge rather than middle of floor and better working from a corner.
Removing dirt and slurry form the amtico floor. Here i am using an extraction machine instead of a mop and bucket. You then have to redress it using amtico flooring dressing and then finish it off with amtico lvt.
Do not allow the floor to dry before rinsing off the slurry. Once the floor is dry apply amtico floorcare dressing for a fresh new look. Use amtico floorcare stripper to remove any ingrained dirt simply apply the prepared solution leave for 10 minutes then thoroughly rinse twice.
Apply the stripper on the flooring leave it on for about ten minutes and then rinse it twice.
