How To Sit Comfortably On The Floor
Problems standing back up.
How to sit comfortably on the floor. In this video i am sharing some tips strategies on how to sit on the floor comfortably without getting pain. Sitting on the floor may not be ideal if you have existing issues in your hips knees or ankles. Similarly joint issues could make it difficult to get off the floor.
Use your arms as posts to support some of your body weight and help you sit upright. Cross legged sitting on the floor for modern urban people usually involves a tucked pelvis. It may be the increased strain on your back but sitting on the floor encourages you to automatically fix your posture.
A retroverted tucked pelvis often results in a relaxed and slumped torso left. Sitting higher away from the floor gives more room for pelvic and spinal adjustment allowing greater ease of breathing and the freedom to mobilize your pelvis and spine to find better upright. Use a counterweight to help you bring your center of gravity over your base of support.
Use bolsters to take some of the stress off of your tight muscles and achy joints. This is not a sustainable or healthy position for long periods.
